The company is listed in the Fortune 500 and has a long-term focus on building its own platforms that enable secure and reliable real-time processing of card transactions.

They are also exploring the use of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies within their product portfolio.

The team in Prague is responsible for key systems supporting card payment authorization. We are looking for a new expert to join and help maintain and further develop these critical systems.

Job description

Every card transaction passes through a complex authorization system that verifies and processes it within milliseconds.
Your role will be to understand how this system works end-to-end and contribute to its further development, performance, and resilience.

You will:
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into functional and architectural specifications
• Design system integrations, message flows, and data mappings for authorization services
• Collaborate with development teams on implementation, testing, and release management
• Participate in certifications and integrations with Visa / Mastercard and other card schemes
• Review existing architecture and propose optimizations for performance, stability, and scalability
• Support incident analysis and help resolve complex authorization issues
• Document system behavior and data flows using UML / PlantUML / Markdown
• Work within an environment built for real-time, high-availability authorization

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a technical analyst, systems consultant or solution architect in the payments domain
• Deep understanding of card payment authorization and transaction processing (ISO 8583)
• Knowledge of authorization and payment systems such as BASE24 / ACI, PowerZac, Prime, or OpenWay
• Experience from banking, fintech or payment processor environments
• Proven ability to model and design complex systems, create sequence and integration diagrams
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS or card-scheme certification processes
• Strong analytical and communication skills – ability to bridge business, IT, and operations
• Fluent Czech or Slovak – daily communication within the local team
• English – professional level (spoken and written)
