For a key French banking customer, we are strengthening a Czech-based team responsible for the stability, performance and continuous optimization of a mission-critical Teradata DWH platform.

Job description

This role combines L1/L2 Production Support with hands-on Teradata DBA responsibilities in a structured, SLA-driven banking environment.

You will operate in a ticket-based setup (Jira), ensure production stability, coordinate incident resolution and actively contribute to performance optimization of the Teradata ecosystem.

Production Support (ITIL L1/L2)
• Act as a “Detect, Prevent & Resume” specialist for the ETL/DWH production environment
• Handle L1/L2 support within a structured ITIL framework
• Monitor dashboards, alerts, email, and Teams communication
• Lead and coordinate RCA activities in collaboration with Level 3
• Ensure SLA compliance and data availability for business users
• Prepare and deliver daily operational reports to the client
• Prepare monthly performance and activity reports

Teradata DBA Responsibilities:
• Manage performance of production and development databases
• User creation and access management
• Deploy hotfix packages in pre-production environments
• Monitor system performance using Teradata Viewpoint
• Review system reports and prepare performance assessment reports with optimization recommendations
• Identify and quantify improvement opportunities
• Analyze poorly performing BI/ETL queries and recommend restructuring, PPI adjustments or index changes
• Perform optimal index analysis (add/drop recommendations)
• Monitor workload groups to ensure SLA compliance

Requirements

• Experience in Production / Application Support (Level 1 & 2) within enterprise environments
• Solid understanding of ETL processes and Data Warehouse concepts
• Experience with UNIX is a must
• Experience with index analysis and optimization, query performance troubleshooting, and monitoring tools (e.g., Teradata Viewpoint)
• Experience working with Jira or similar Quality / Ticketing systems
• ITIL-oriented mindset
• English fluency (French is an advantage)

• Duration: Initial 12-month engagement with strong probability of extension
• Allocation: Full-time
• Location: Czech Republic (hybrid model – 2 days onsite per week)
• Working hours: Rotation between 8:00–17:00 and 9:00–18:00
• Business calendar: French calendar (work during Czech public holidays may be required)
• Travel: Occasional business travel to France possible
