An enterprise storage team needs an experienced SAN/NAS specialist who can run operations, performance and capacity on critical storage infrastructure. CZK 7,000–9,000/day, Prague (hybrid, 2–3 days on-site — commutable from Pilsen, Pardubice, Hradec Králové or Ústí), B2B contract.
No visa sponsorship. EU work authorisation + a registered trade licence required.
Our client is an international technology company with offices around the world, focused on digital transformation and software development for large enterprises. For one of their key clients, they're running an important enterprise storage project — and need an experienced specialist to join the team on the ground in Prague.
## Why This Role Exists Now
The storage team at the end client — the one this role sits in — runs and maintains the storage infrastructure, and needs to bring in someone with real depth in the storage domain.
Job description
#### Role / Mission
You keep the enterprise storage platform running at a high level — performance, capacity, incidents, all handled in a way the team can rely on. Where it makes sense, you automate the repetitive work with scripting or AI tools.
Twelve months in, you've got the platform's operation firmly under control — routine incidents and capacity planning are yours to handle, the repetitive stuff is automated, and it's on you to decide where the environment goes next.
#### Key Responsibilities
* You handle operations, performance and troubleshooting on the enterprise storage platform (SAN/NAS)
* You plan and manage storage capacity based on real load, not guesswork
* You work with the internal infrastructure team on architecture and stability
* If you can script or work with AI tools, you'll use that to automate repetitive tasks — but that's not what the role is built on
#### What This Role Is NOT
* This isn't a short-term stint for a few months — the engagement is set up for a year from day one, with room to extend.
* This isn't a general DevOps/SRE role where storage is just one of several skills — here, storage is the job, not a side skill.
#### Operating Model
Hybrid, 2–3 days a week on-site at the end client's Prague office, where the project runs. Working language is English.
Two or three days a week is not a daily commute, and that changes who this role is open to. If you live in Central Bohemia, Pilsen, Pardubice, Hradec Králové, Liberec or Ústí nad Labem, you are within 60–90 minutes of the office twice a week — that works, and people at this level do it. You do not have to move to Prague to take this on.
Requirements
## What Matters Most
1. 5+ years hands-on experience with enterprise storage — SAN/NAS, protocols, architecture, troubleshooting, performance, capacity planning.
2. Deep practice on at least one enterprise array platform — Dell EMC, NetApp, IBM, HPE, Hitachi or a comparable all-flash / hybrid enterprise array.
3. Available soon — able to start within 15–30 days of being selected. A long notice period rules this role out.
## Nice to Have
— Basic scripting and automation of repetitive tasks (Python, shell, AI tools) — a bonus, not a requirement
— Experience with virtualization (VMware or comparable)
— Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus and similar)
— Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud enterprise environments
This is context, not hard requirements.
Offer & Terms
* CZK 7,000–9,000/day, depending on experience and depth of practice with specific storage platforms.
* This runs as a B2B contract — the day rate is the whole compensation, there is no employee benefits package attached to it.
* The engagement is set for at least a year, with room to extend.
