1944 Gibson J-45 Banner back White Pine 5” scale neck to recreateNow this is a true piece of American history, a collectors dream but also an astounding sounding instrument. This 1944 J 45 Banner is an amazing example of war time guitar building. Spruce was in short supply at that time due to the war effort so Gibson was building guitars with whatever they had available. At this time, they had Mahogany and on this guitar, it happens to be a single piece, yes that is right, one piece of solid mahogany on the top!
