A big snapper or kingfish is a powerful beast and even the best soft-bait, micro-jig or slow jigging outfit wont stop one when it wants to run
The upside of this style is that they travel small at 16-24 but the downside is that putting together the sections takes a bit more time and finesse in lining up all the guides and snugging each section - keeping you away from the nice spot you picked out
The advantage of such a design is that the reel is direct-driven, and during casting the line release is as smooth as that of a spinning reel, but it does require an extra hand movement to start reeling
Just to clarify before we start, I'll be talking you through a semi-deconstruction
