The team in Prague is responsible for key systems supporting card payment authorization. We are looking for a new colleague to join this team and help ensure the quality, correctness, and reliability of these critical systems.
Job description
Every card transaction passes through a complex authorization system that verifies and processes it within milliseconds.
Your role will be to understand how this system works end-to-end and validate that it behaves correctly in all business and technical scenarios.
You will:
• analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into test scenarios and validation rules
• design, implement, and maintain automated test scenarios for authorization and payment use-cases
• gain a deep understanding of card payment authorization flows and transaction logic
• collaborate closely with development teams on implementation, testing, and releases
• support integrations and certifications with Visa, Mastercard, and other card schemes from a testing perspective
• analyse defects and incidents, identify root causes, and help resolve complex authorization issues
• support external partners during their testing and integration phases
• document system behaviour, test coverage, and authorization scenarios
• work in an environment built for real-time, high-availability payment authorization
Requirements
• 2+ years of experience as a tester, test analyst, or QA specialist in a technical / backend environment
• experience with test automation (API or integration testing; BDD/Gherkin or similar approaches are an advantage)
• ability to design structured test scenarios for complex systems
• basic understanding or exposure to payments, fintech, e-commerce, or banking systems
• analytical mindset and ability to understand end-to-end flows rather than isolated components
• experience with bug tracking and task management tools (e.g. JIRA)
• English at a professional working level
Nice-to-have
• experience with card payment authorization or ISO 8583
• background in banking, fintech, or payment processor environments
• familiarity with authorization systems such as BASE24 / ACI, PowerZac, Prime, OpenWay, or similar
• basic understanding of security or cryptography concepts in payments
• Czech or Slovak language for daily team communication
